Thank you for joining the conversation about the potential for a Seniors Advisory Committee in the Township of Puslinch!
As a first step in determining the creation of a Seniors Advisory Committee, the Township of Puslinch is seeking the community’s interest in participating as a member of the proposed Committee. Additionally the Township is seeking feedback on the mandate, purpose, qualifications and meetings times of a Seniors Advisory Committee.
This Committee would serve in an advisory capacity to Council on matters that impact the quality of life of seniors, with the goal of making the Township a more age-friendly place to live.
Examples of topics that the Committee may provide recommendations on are as follows:
- Advising Council where applicable;
- Actively engage the community on matters relating to senior services by promoting public awareness of services within the community;
- Act as an advocate for seniors within the Township;
- Make recommendations for improvements on how to make Puslinch a more age-friendly community;
- Reviewing practices and policies identified by staff and Council and making recommendations to improve the delivery of services to the public;
- Solicit input from the community regarding seniors needs;
- Provide a forum for Puslinch seniors to exchange information about current issues and emerging concerns.
